In order to host a website it also must be registered. Registration is a license to use the domain name and direct that website to a Domain Hosting Provider.

Domain Registrations within Australia for any of the .au space are reserved for Australian citizens and companies. For the commercial space an ABN/ACN is required and certain criteria is required to ensure the domain name matches or is closly linked to that corporations activities.
